Cordillera Administrative Region-Around 33 thousand  family food packs (FFPs) and a standby fund amounting to PhP 3 million is at placed by Department of Social Welfare and Development here for possible resource augmentation and response operation on the impending threat of TS Dante in the region.

“Prior to the entry of the weather disturbance “CHOI-WAN” to the Philippine Area of Responsibility, we have already prepositioned more than 1,300 family food packs in our five (5) temporary satellite warehouses respectively and more than 25 thousand in our regional warehouse located in Puguis, La Trinidad, said DSWD FO CAR Regional Director Arnel B. Garcia, CESO II

“This is the proactive approach we are observing to assure the public that we are equipped and ready to provide immediate relief operation assistance not limited to our region.” Garcia adds.

Although tropical storm DANTE has weakened, it changed its trajectory crossing over the Region with heighten alert especially for the province of Benguet.

Aside from ensuring availability of Food and Non-food items (FNIs) and operationalization of Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), the agency’s Quick Response Team (QRT) members are on alert for possible deployment and augmentation. #DSWD FO CAR, SOCIAL MARKETING UNIT, Angela M. Ocawe
