Cordillera Administrative Region- As an augmentation to the relief efforts here, the Philippine National Police-Cordillera Administrative Region Training Center (PNP-CARTC) donated food packs to one hundred fifty (150) beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of Baguio City on 1 June 2020 at Barangay Middle Quezon Hill.

CARTC Regional Training Director PLt.Col. Manolito Parazo said that the initiative is part of the social responsibility and advocacy of the center to care and share blessings especially to  the most affected families of the CoronaVirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

“It has been in my heart and part of our advocacy to extend help to in-need families especially during this time of crisis. We also intend to bring the Police closer to the community”, Parazo underscored.

Meanwhile, OIC- Regional Director Leo L. Quintilla of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office Cordillera Administrative  lauded the initiative of the PNP-CARTC for choosing the 4Ps beneficiaries in their relief activities.

“We recognize the initiative of the CARTC for our 4Ps beneficiaries in the City. Even before this activity, we have always considered our Police to be our partner in social welfare and development not just for 4Ps but even in our disaster response efforts”, Director Quintilla said.

Meanwhile, 4Ps Regional Program Coordinator Fatima Florendo revealed that the Agency is currently in the process of formalizing the partnership through the execution of a Memorandum of Agreement.

Florendo said that once the partnership is formalized, the DSWD FO CAR and PNP-CARTC will expand its services and activities to other indigent and vulnerable sectors of the community outside Baguio City.

“On behalf of our 4Ps beneficiaries, we would like to express our gratitude for the assistance given by the PNP-CARTC. We are also looking forward to working with them in the conduct of more activities for our beneficiaries”, Florendo added.

In December 2019, the CARTC also engaged with 500 4Ps beneficiaries through their ‘Pulis Ko, Santa Ko, I-care program’. ### DSWD-CAR, Social Marketing Unit, Marlo C. Abyado, Jr., Pantawid Information Officer
