The municipality of Tublay, Benguet is now ready to implement P6. 982 million worth of sub-projects after conducting a community consultation through the Municipal Inter-Barangay Forum for Participatory Resource Allocation (MIBF-PRA) of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS).

Kalahi-CIDSS uses the community-driven development approach wherein the communities are capacitated to identify their needs and propose solutions to these. The MIBF-PRA serves as the venue for the different barangays to present their proposals for funding.

Kalahi-CIDSS is being implemented by the Department of Social Welfare in Development (DSWD) in partnership with the local government units and the communities themselves.

The municipality of Tublay has been granted P 6.622M grant from Kalahi-CIDSS while the P 360,000 is the counterpart of the Municipal Local Government Unit.

After the MIBF-PRA, five (5) barangays of the municipality have been granted to implement their proposals.

Three (3) of the projects will focus on the improvement of water supply system in barangays Basil with P1. 561M worth of project, Daclan with P1.090M and Ambongdolan with P1.130 M.

The other two projects to be implemented is a multi-purpose building in barangay Baayan worth P1.310M and a footpath with galvanized iron pipe railings in barangay Tublay Central  worth P1. 638M.

Tublay Area Coordinating Team member Roxan Ladaga said that all the said projects are slated for completion by the end of December this year. “We asked the commitment of the municipal officials, barangay officials including community volunteers to finish the projects as fast as possible,” Ladaga said.

Meanwhile, barangays Tuel, Ambassador, and Caponga who did not make the priority list will implement a total of P4, 543, 800 worth of projects by February next year to be funded by Kalahi-CIDSS and MLGU.

Community Procurement Officer Angelo Gumnad told the representatives of the said barangays that “as long as the required documents are duly submitted, implementation of the projects will run smoothly.”

Currently, seven (7) municipalities including Tublay are implementing this program in the province of Benguet. #DSWD-CAR, SOCIAL MARKETING UNIT, Jasmin P. Kiaso
