Cordillera Administrative Region- The Department of Social Welfare and Development is warning the public especially its beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino program of a text scam informing them they won cash prizes in a raffle.

The text message says President Noynoy Aquino Foundation through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program is giving cash prizes to chosen cell phone users.

DSWD Regional Director Janet P. Armas said there is no truth to this text scam and that the agency has not conducted any activity with such nature.

“We would like to inform the public that the DSWD is not conducting any raffle promos. The Government implements poverty reduction programs as well as other social welfare services that have legitimate processes to help our clients,” Armas added.

She further explained that the Department does not charge any application or registration fee to the beneficiaries of the poverty reduction programs such as the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Sustainable Livelihood Program, Social Pension Program, Supplementary Feeding Program, and Assistance to Individuals in Crises Situation.

Meanwhile, the DSWD is encouraging the public to report any case of misdemeanour or fraudulent act on the Pantawid Pamilya program through its Grievance Redress System.

A complaint or report can be sent through a text message via text line 0918-912-2813 or by visiting the municipal, provincial, or regional Social Welfare and Development offices. # DSWD-CAR, Social Marketing Unit
