Tabuk City, Kalinga- 33 first graders and 31 kindergarten pupils of Bado Dangwa Elementary School, who are mostly Pantawid children, are more excited to attend their classes after they have received their own bags and school supplies as they were chosen as the beneficiaries of the Handog School Supply Campaign in the city.

Handog School Supply Campaign is a joint venture of the Tabuk Volleyball Association, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program staff and beneficiaries who initiated this project. This campaign aimed to help school children by providing supplies which they can use for their educational pursuits.

“Bawat isa nagtulong-tulong upang maisakatuparan namin itong proyekto na ito. Kahit mga Pantawid beneficiaries, nagdonate ng school supplies at oral hygiene kits.” Parent Leader Ponciano Gumabay of Brgy. Pantikian shared.

A total of 64 children were able to receive their school bags and supplies through the said campaign.

First grader Aritz Dale Bayongan, Pantawid beneficiary from Centro Bado Dangwa is one of the beneficiaries of the said project and was able to receive a new bag for the first time. “Yung bag ko po noon, hiningi lang ng mama ko sa mga kamag-anak namin. Ngayon po, may sarili na po akong bag at maibibigay ko na po sa mga kapatid ko yung luma”, Aritz shared.  Aritz is inspired now that she new bag with complete supplies in it that she can use in her study.

Parent Leader Rosemarie Gonzaga also shared that she is very happy because among the children of 109 in her barangay, her daughter, Krisha, was one the lucky recipients to gain from the project. “Hindi ko na kailangang bumili ng school supplies ni Krisha ngayon. Malaking tipid na rin ito para saamin”, Rosemarie added.

As of May 2014, there are 4,345 households benefitting from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in Tabuk City. #DSWD-CAR, SOCIAL MARKETING UNIT, NFGV with reports from Darwin Serion, Municipal Link
