Cordillera Administrative Region- There are around 693 typhoon Labuyo victims who have received aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). This is according to the Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Report of the Department.

Most of these victims are from the municipality of Tublay in Benguet Province and in Baguio City. The victims have received assistance amounting to around P110, 300 worth of monetized assistance from the DSWD.

Bulk of this has been given to the municipality of Tublay through the 294 family packs and 48 blankets, and assorted medicines intended for the evacuees of the said municipality.

Regional Director Leonardo C. Reynoso said that the Field Office has prepared around 5,100 family packs ready for distribution in case that local government units will request for relief augmentation. Aside from this, an amount of around P3.3 Million has been on stand-by for quick response of emergency situations.

Meanwhile, the DSWD has monitored 4 totally damaged and 168 partially damaged houses due to the onslaught of the typhoon. Affected families will be the potential beneficiaries of the Core Shelter Assistance Program (CSAP) of the DSWD depending on the program’s implementation guidelines.

Moreover, the DSWD also maintains Quick Action Response Teams (QUARTs) that are on-stand by during disasters. The QUARTs are stationed in the field office to monitor the situation during disasters. These teams work together with the Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) of the DSWD to ensure the welfare of the public during disasters and crises.
