The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD FO CAR) warned its beneficiaries against gambling and other misdemeanor behaviors.
This follows the reported cases of beneficiaries involved in gambling activities in Baguio City.
“We will not tolerate any form of misbehavior like gambling among our 4Ps beneficiaries especially with the on-going Enhanced Community Quarantine due to COVID-19 pandemic. Rest assured that we will take proper actions about these cases. We gently remind our beneficiaries to behave and follow the guidelines of the program,” DSWD FO CAR OIC Regional Director Leo Quintilla said.
Based on National Advisory Committee (NAC) Resolution 20 Series of 2014, Pantawid Pamilya households found guilty of misdemeanor cases like gambling shall be removed from the program on the third offense.
Pantawid Pamilya Regional Program Coordinator Fatima Florendo furthered that through the program’s Grievance Redress System (GRS), warning letters were already issued to household beneficiaries who were caught in the gambling act. GRS is a set of procedures meant to timely resolve and validate the grounds of issues and complaints against the 4Ps beneficiaries.
“We are closely working with our partners from the local government units to monitor the reported cases and complaints. Rest assured that such misbehaviors will be religiously monitored and provided with interventions. We reiterate that as partners, the 4Ps beneficiaries should use their cash grants wisely. The emergency cash assistance seeks to augment their regular grant and that they should be grateful and should use it for their family’s needs,” Florendo said.
Meanwhile, the public is encouraged to report any problems concerning 4Ps implementation through the nearest Pantawid Pamilya Operations Office in their municipality.
The public can also e-mail concerns through grs.focar@dswd.gov.ph or text complaints through the hotline number 0918-912-2813 with the following text format DSWD<space>4Ps<space>Name of Beneficiary<space>Address<space>Message.
