Seventy-three (73) children of Persons with visual disability from Baguio City and Benguet received gifts during the Community Outreach organized by the Pink Women on Fire Corporation in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD FO CAR) on 27 December 2024 held at Mabini Elementary School Gymnasium, Baguio City. 

The outreach distributed bags filled with school supplies, slippers, sports equipment, pink gift boxes, toys, selected clothing, and baskets containing hygiene kits which seeks to augment the education needs of the children. 

“Children of persons with visual disability often face unique challenges, including increased responsibilities, limited access to resources, and societal stigma. These challenges can affect their emotional well-being, educational opportunities, and overall quality of life. Hence, this partnership with Pink Women on Fire Corporation, this initiative exemplifies the power of collective action and empathy in creating opportunities for a brighter future,” said Regional Director Maria A. Catbagan-Aplaten, PhD. 

Aside from the gift-giving activity, the Pink Women on Fire Corporation led by its Vice President Ms. Bernice Garcia facilitated interactive games for the children which provided an avenue for them to express their dreams and aspirations. The team also guided the children on how to reach their aspirations through commitment setting together with their parents.

Meanwhile, the team of Pastor Lorielee Diaz Demetrio from Jesus Christ the Servant King Ministries, Ms. Shirley Diño from The Crown Legacy and Pines View Hotel, and Ms. Beth Yu So from Rotary Club Passport International also provided food, hygiene kits, and grocery packages for the beneficiaries.

Aligned with its mission to reach the unreachable, one life, one child, and one tribe, the Pink Women on Fire Corporation, a non-government organization and a volunteer group focusing on community outreach, was established to celebrate the lives of the underprivileged children, believing that they are destined to become the next generation’s future leaders. 

Since the forged partnership in 2019, the Pink Women on Fire Corporation has been organizing community outreach in partnership with DSWD FO CAR under the Kaagapay framework of engagement.
