Cordillera Administrative Region – To promote transparency on the process of identifying the poor, the Listahanan, or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), of the Department of Social Welfare and Development will hold its first photo contest on the on-going household assessment.
The contest, themed “Listahanan at work: identifying families in need of social protection,” is open to all photography enthusiasts.
“By showcasing how poor families are identified through the actual data gathering of Listahanan in this photo contest, we aim to illustrate transparency and integrity of the assessment process and develop advocates of the Listahanan,” DSWD-CAR OIC Regional Director Janet P. Armas said.
All interested participants must send scanned copy of entry form with at least three sample photos in digital format to listahanan.sm.car@gmail.com. Contestants with the best photos will be chosen to officially compete in the regional photo contest through a study tour that the DSWD will conduct.
The winning entries will receive plaques and cash prizes of: Php 10,000 for first place; Php 7,000 for second place; Php 5,000 for third place.
Entry form is now available here. Deadline of application will be on 15 August 2015.
For more information about the contest, all interested individuals may visit the DSWD-CAR Field Office or call (074) 444-3262 and look for Ms. Kaye Ann Mapalo.
