Beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) representing the six provinces and one chartered City of the Cordillera Administration Region (CAR) get ready for this year’s Regional Search for 4Ps Huwarang Pamilya and Exemplary Child set on 3 July 2025 in Baguio City.

After a series of deliberation and validation through the provincial and city searches conducted by the DSWD Field Office CAR in May, seven entries each representing the 6 provinces and the City of Baguio have been selected to compete for the Regional 4Ps Huwarang Pamilya and 4Ps Exemplary Child titles.

  • Catherine Suclad family for Baguio City;
  • Roger Gonzales family of Kibunga, Benguet;
  • Christopher Kindahan family of Tinoc for Ifugao;

The finalists for each category will undergo an interview with the invited panel of judges from the National Government Agencies (NGAs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and media partners. The submitted nomination and entry documents from the finalists will also be reviewed as part of the desk deliberation.

This year is another exciting event because our program beneficiaries will amplify their stories of hopes and inspirations. We also hope that their stories will inspire other 4Ps households towards their eventual graduation from the program,” 4Ps Regional Program Coordinator and Division Chief Fatima Florendo said.

The 2025 Huwarang Pamilya and Exemplary Child of CAR will represent the region alongside regional winners from the different DSWD Field Offices in the National Family Week and National Children’s Congress slated in September and November, respectively, this year. Meanwhile, the winners will serve as family and children ambassadors of the Program and they will help in championing the Program’s advocacies on education, health, nutrition, and promote gender and development in the communities. The winners will also receive cash prizes and certificates of recognition.

Now in its 10th year, the Regional Search is held annually as a platform to showcase and recognize the success stories of family and children-beneficiaries who maintain strong family ties, demonstrate positive Filipino values in their household, school, and have a positive impact in the community.

The 4Ps, led by the DSWD, was institutionalized in 2019 by virtue of Republic Act 11310 as the government’s major poverty alleviation program that invests in the health, nutrition, education, and psycho-social development of the beneficiaries.

As of 31 April 2025, the Program monitors 53, 174 household beneficiaries in the Cordillera ensuring that the beneficiaries will have the capacity to live a decent life and are ready to exit within seven years as mandated by the law. ### DSWD FO CAR, Social Marketing Unit, Marlo C.
