
The regional leg of the “Trabaho para sa Bagong Pilipinas” Job Fair for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Beneficiaries was successfully conducted on 6 March 2025 simultaneous to the Cash Assistance Payout held at the Gabaldon Building, Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology-Bangued Campus.
The job fair dubbed “Trabaho para sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps” is a national job fair spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), other National Government Agencies (NGAs), the Provincial Local Government Unit of Abra, and other private companies.
Around thirteen (13) NGAs and 18 private companies and corporations offered career opportunities from local and international places to foster financial independence for the program beneficiaries.
As a result, three job-seekers were hired-on-the-spot after qualifying the eligibility requirements, interviews, and evaluation conducted on site.
Mark Jaspher Comilang, from the municipality of Pidigan was assisted for possible recruitment in the Philippine Army. Khyle Briones and Susan Abeño from the municipalities of Tayum and Dolores, respectively, and also joined the workforce as cashier staff in one of the biggest known department stores in the Philippines. The two workers were also assisted through the Employment Assistance Fund of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (4Ps) wherein a P5,000 worth of financial assistance to support their pre-employment requirements.
“The DSWD will continue to assist 4Ps beneficiaries in finding employment that aligns with their skills, guiding them towards successful career paths, and providing support through livelihood and employment initiatives. We should harness the skills bestowed upon us by the Almighty and utilize them for the betterment of our families,” DSWD Regional Director Maria A. Catbagan-Aplaten said.
The “Trabaho para sa Bagong Pilipinas” represents an extensive government initiative to offer reliable employment and financial independence among the 4Ps beneficiaries towards their eventual exit from the program. ###DSWD-CAR, SOCIAL MARKETING UNIT, Novy Ann B.
