The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera Administrative Region through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) Project recognized five (5) Gender and Development (GAD) champions during the assessment of gender mainstreaming in Millennium Challenge Corporation-covered municipalities on April 14-15, 2016.

The awardees during the event are as follows; Benita L. Acgoy of Pasil, Kalinga as Barangay GAD Volunteer Champion, Brenda G. Mabiasen of Besao, Mountain Province as Community Volunteer GAD Champion, Nida P. Docallas of Besao, Mountain Province as Municipal GAD Champion, Modesto D. Gaab also from Besao Mountain Province as Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator GAD Champion and Barangay Poblacion, Luba, Abra as a Barangay GAD Champion.
