HUNGDUAN, Ifugao (PIA) – – A Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) recipient from this municipality finished her baccalaureate degree with flying colors at the Ifugao State University (IFSU) main campus in Nayon, Lamut last March.
Noemi D. Uddi-e, a 4Ps scholar under the Expanded Students Grants-in-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA), graduated Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (AB POLSCI) as cum laude, according to Jeremy Gawongna of the IFSU’s information office.
Uddi-e from Maggok, Hungduan, obtained a general weighted average of 91.58% qualifying her of the said academic award.
To be a cum laude, he or she should be a regular student, no grade in a subject below 80% from first to fourth year, and the general weighted average for the last semester he/she attended must be 89% to 92%.
The ESGP-PA is an educational grant that prioritizes the beneficiaries of 4Ps by providing them opportunity to get college education, increase their chance to get better employment in the future and ultimately uplift the lives of their family so that they become contributors to national development.
Beneficiary of this grant is entitled to a maximum of P60, 000.00 per year or P30, 000.00 per semester. It covers the cost of tuition fees and other school fees, academic and other extracurricular expenses, purchase of textbooks, board and lodging, transportation, clothing, admission and entrance fees, health and other valid related education expenses and support services.
The program is implemented by the Commission on Higher Education, Department of Budget and Management, Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges , Department of Social Welfare and Development and Department of Labor and Employment .(JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
