The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD FO CAR) is looking for qualified students who are willing to render public service under its Government Internship Program (GIP). The GIP is one of the components of the Kabataan 2000 Program which provides an opportunity for poor but deserving students to gain hands-on experience in government service while earning income.
For 2026, the DSWD FO CAR will be hiring 100 interns who will be assigned at the DSWD Field Office, Center and Residential Care Facilities (CRCFs), Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Offices in Benguet, Kalinga and Mountain Province. Meanwhile, interested applicants from areas not stated may still apply but they will be deployed in DSWD Field Office CAR located in Baguio City.
“For years, we have been implementing the Government Internship Program to help disadvantaged students gain additional income while they experience professional growth by being part of our institution’s operations. The GIP is designed to assist the participants develop their talents, skills, and attitude which they can use in future career endeavors”, DSWD FO CAR OIC Regional Director Enrique H. Gascon, Jr. said.
Through the GIP, the youth participants will be given the opportunity to assist in the implementation of DSWD programs and services through office work and work with communities where DSWD programs or projects are implemented . Students hired under the GIP will stay with the Department for 30 working days and will receive a stipend amounting to 75% of the regional minimum salary which is of PhP 378.75 per day.
The said Program is open to incoming 3rd and 4th year college students who are 18- 25 years old whose family’s monthly income does not exceed the existing Philippine Statistics Authority regional poverty threshold amounting to PhP 13,239.00. Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Members will be prioritized.
