Cordillera Administrative Region- The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD FO CAR) is preparing for the implementation of the Cash Relief Assistance (CRA) intended to provide financial assistance to all Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) drivers affected by the increase in fuel products.

The Cash Relief Assistance is the Department’s contribution in addressing the impact of the increasing prices of petroleum products. As mandated by DSWD Memorandum Circular 07, Series of 2026, the Department will be implementing stop-gap measures to support the recovery of vulnerable and disadvantaged sectors from unexpected crisis situation. CRA is implemented under the Department’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation.

For the 1st tranche, the DSWD FO CAR is set to release the cash relief assistance amounting to PhP 5,000.00 to Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) members from the municipalities of La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay in Benguet and Tabuk City in Kalinga. Around 2,000 affected individuals are expected to receive the said assistance this April 2026.

For the identification of potential beneficiaries for the 1st tranche, the Local Government Units through its Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs) will identify the tricycle drivers registered and permitted to operate in their respective areas. They will further certify or attest to confirm that the listed individuals are legitimate drivers in their localities. The list provided will be run through DSWD FO CAR’s internal deduplication process to come up with a clean list of recipients.

“We would like to warn the public to be keen on the possible scams claiming to call on potential beneficiaries of the Cash Relief Assistance. Official communication regarding the beneficiaries will be provided through our partner LGUs. Coordinate with your LSWDOs or DSWD personnel for legitimate information”, DSWD FO CAR OIC Regional Director Enrique H. Gascon, Jr. said.
