In a significant move to support the recovery efforts of families affected by crises, the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Field Office Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD FO CAR) brought new hope to around 1,000 residents of Kiangan, Ifugao, on 12 November 2025 through a hybrid pay-out of the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) fund.
Led by DSWD FO CAR Regional Director Maria A. Catbagan-Aplaten, the AKAP hybrid pay-out aimed to support families affected by crises in the province. Kiangan residents received a boost to their resilience with the distribution of ₱4,500 financial assistance for each beneficiary, enabling them to recover.
“I urge the beneficiaries to utilize the financial aid wisely and invest it in food, livelihood, and other basic needs that will promote long-term stability and well-being.This assistance is a testament to our commitment to deliver timely and compassionate social services to those who need it most,” RD Aplaten said.
This AKAP hybrid pay-out, which combined on-site and digital disbursement methods, ensured that all beneficiaries, including those in remote areas, could safely receive their assistance. Also, Mobile Command Center(MCC) was deployed in the area. MCC played a vital role in facilitating the activity, providing internet connectivity and temporary electricity.
DSWD FO CAR lauded the Provincial and Municipal Local Government Unit of Kiangan, partner agencies, and community volunteers for the success of the said activity with their prompt and efficient delivery of services.
